What do you guys suggest is the best job for me?

I am 16 and its time for me to start thinking of my future. I really like real estate and do believe I will pursue this as a part-time job. I also would like to invest in mutual funds or cd accounts. I would like to get a career that works around money and that will also help me be successful in real estate. And it would have to have 6 figure income. Any suggestions?

something that I can major for in collegue that pays good... and would help me as a part time real estate investor

Instead of focusing on how much money you want to make, focus on what kind of work you want to spend your life doing.

Then go out and start talking to people working in those fields and ask them what they wish they'd known/studied before entering the field, and what suggestions/advice they can give you. 16 is the perfect age for doing this. Everyone likes to be asked for advice, especially from an earnest person just starting out.

Ask politely, listen to what they have to say, ask thoughtful questions but don't argue...and always, always, always say thank you (preferably in writing). Focus on what you can learn right now.

Not only are you likely to get the benefit of their years of experience (which can be worth a lot more than a six-figure income for a few years), if they like you they may even become a mentor to help and guide you to success.

Stay flexible and keep an open mind along the way, but keep your goal in mind and keep working toward it.

Listen to people who have succeeded at what you want to do and do what they do.

Keep your goal in mind and keep working toward it.

Always seek to meet new people and do what you can to help them be successful.

Keep your goal in mind and keep working toward it.

Read about people who have been successful and look for the similarities in their actions that made them successful - actions that you too can emulate.

Keep your goal in mind and keep working toward it.

Always reach higher: a stockbroker can make a lot more money than a telemarketer - yet they're both making cold calls to people and trying to sell them something.

Keep your goal in mind and keep working toward it.

Be prepared - and move quickly when opportunities present themselves.

Keep your goal in mind and keep working toward it.

Good luck...and have fun.

Well, you just said it, Real Estate.

Most people who work in real estate don't have a 6 figure income right out of college, let alone at 16. I'd recommend working for a local real estate agency or appraiser-if you can get the job- for experience. When you are ready to make a decision about college look for schools with good real estate finance programs. Or, you could get certified as a real estate appraiser, which requires no college degree. A close friend of mine did this, and has worked his way up to be a well to do real estate investor. The bottom line is that in order to make the 6 figure salary, you're going to have to work hard at what you do for a good number of years.

if you're looking for a six figure income at 16, you may be in for a surprise. But, you can start working your way into real estate by working as an assistant. This way, you will have hands on experience of what goes on. In some states, you have to be 18 though. Good luck
