Do you think stimulas tax rebates will help? What if people buy imported goods? Targeting housing be better?

It seems like targeting rebates towards housing would be better. That is where the biggest problem is. Increase funding to FHA. Grant FHA loans at below market rates to lower income people with decent credit who are refinancing adjustable rate or who are buying for the first time. To qualify, the person would have to be below average income and buying a lower priced house. This would eventually help middle-class homeowners trying to sell, because some of the people selling lower priced homes would move up to the next level.

That would only help housing and only low income people who made bad choices already. Reward bad behavior and you just get more of it. Some bailouts have already rewarded people who were irresponsible and the people who lived within their means are angry. The only want to stimulate spending is to get money into the hands of spenders, give it to debtors and savers and it will pay off debt or get saved. You want to see ever cent given out spent send it to people on SSI they always need more than they get since they get a pitiful amount.

The additional tax rebate is an absolute joke.
You got to be kidding me right? What will ya do with $1200.00? Oh yeah pay for a few months of gas. Oh my forgive me. Bushes buddies will get there fair share of it.

"Tax Rebates" is a fancy way to say "we are giving you back YOUR MONEY.

No one who got a loan they could not afford should be allowed to skate on it in any way shape or form. Those of us who pay our bills, home loans etc are the ones who will suffer. It is called personal responsibility, you signed it you pay it STOP DEMANDING THE GOVERNMENT BAIL YOUR STUPID @$$ OUT!!!!!!

Time to take a hard look at this one people

They might make a few people happy...for a while. In the long run, tax rebates will not solve anything. For many people it would be better to receive a slip in mail that says 'you will not be laid off' than getting a check.
