If I didn't file taxes but my girlfriend use my tax credit from school funding like loans and grant? |
If I did'nt file taxes but my girlfriend use my tax credit from school funding like loans and grants and how do put this on my Fasfa but someone told me I don't have too b/c i didi'nt file taxes and thats not income but just tax credit so please help me b/.c I don't want to get in trouble but the tax preparer told me just don't worry b/c she is filing and I'm just being claim by her? Thanks Huh? Any scholarships and grants that you receive are for YOUR use, not your girlfriends. If you don't use them for YOUR qualified educational costs the money becomes taxable income to YOU and YOU must list it as such on YOUR tax return. |
