Opening a ROTH IRA account with Vanguard? |
Hello I've decided to open up a ROTH IRA account with Vanguard within a couple months. The guildline states that: Also would the $3000 that I had on the side be included in my contributing limit of $4000 a fiscal year ROTH IRA just because I opened the account? Or would I be able to contribute another $2500 within this fiscal year (assuming that I would be able to make that much before tax deadlines)? You can use your $3,000 to open an account with Vanguard - you just can't open a Roth IRA account with the full $3K. It would have to be a regular account. You can't contribute MORE than you earned. If you only earn $1500 for this entire year then that is ALL that you can contribute to any IRA. check the below link its good |
