When will NSW receive its fair share of NSW raised GST Revenue and stop funding the other States in Australia?

So GST was meant to be one blanket tax to replace many, such as Stamp Duty and to reduce Personal Income tax, hasn't happened. Granated it's a Federal tax, HOWEVER, New South Wales raises the vast majority than it is unfairly distributed to other States to fund massive infrastructure projects, Roads, Schools, Hospitals and Housing.

In NSW where the most over taxed State in the country and its shocking to see out taxes are funding rich States like Queensland and Western Australia, who are both reaping the rewards of a mining and resource boom to China !

Enough is enough, how about the other wealthy States stand on their own or utilise THEIR GST raised revenue and let us improve our systems with our own.

If it was a "fair" distribution, it would be based on a "per capita basis" as with having 2-3 times the population means you have far greater demands and needs to be met, which currently stretch our State unfairly whilst Qld and WA prosper off the backs of NSW citizens.

Many tax policy experts agree that the basis upon which GST is distributed between the States is inequitable. It's no secret that the federal government wishes to ultimately do away with the States, though. This way the federal government can show up the NSW Labor government as being incompetent in funding public resources by starving the State of its due funding. Molly's observations were very valid too. So States are left bickering amongst each other for their fair share. Divide and conquer: the federal government's most well worn strategy.

Oh you hit nerve with me here Wayne because I believe that WA contributes more to Australia's economy than any other state and if you have been up and seen places like The Burrup,Port Hedland and Tom Price where huge amounts of royalties come from and see how much has been put back into the roads and the infrastructure you might think differently.

We have no rail line up north our roads are shocking and for the amount taken out of our state it might be nice to see some put back the mining companies pay huge amounts of tax so do the guys that work there.

An example is the governments $10 billion water initiative that WA does not get one cent of also they want take the excess water from the North West and feed it to the other states because they don't have enough initiative to find some other source like the desalination plants that our government are building.

I think if they want our water then they should take themselves out of their cushy environment and move up North go without things like those that live there do.

We have to fight for drought relief we are not getting any of the money set aside for the racing industry so I think WA contributes a lot more than it ever gets back.

We have large Aboriginal problem just as bad as NT and we get no money to help but the government wants to take 10 of our police away from much needed areas and us to pay for them.
