Best dividend mutual funds in India?

I would like to invest a couple of lakhs in dividend based mutual funds. The aim is to save some income tax before March 31, 2008. Could anyone suggest 3 to 4 good dividend based funds in India that has a consistent dividend record over the past three-four years (I need the funds that pays out dividend during H2 - ie. October through March)

Thanks,
Ajith

(I have enough investment in stocks, but returns attract 10% taxes. For this financial year, I am thinking of further ways to reduce my tax burden)

To reduce your tax burden, you need to invest in Tax saving Mutual fund(ELSS).

Following are best ELSS scheme

1. HDFC Tax Sever.
2. SBI Magnum Tax Gain
3. Principle Tax Saver.

Dividend record of SBI Magnum tax saver is good.

You just missed the gold rush !!!

Do you mean to say you were sitting on your pile of cash when the share market crashed ?

Take a piece of sound advice. Start investing Systematically either via SIP or direct investments in MF on weekly basis of small amounts say Rs.10000 per week till you finish your investment of those couple of lakhs till 31st March 2008 to get best results on your investments.

MF companies have been instructed by SEBI and RBI not to disclose their dividend dates till at least 3 days in advance to their channel members even the dividend percentage is not officially disclosed till the last minute.

please visit the Mutual Funds section in www.moneycontrol.com. They will give all details of all mutual fund. any detail u want to know is there.
secondaly re your shares, hold them for 365 days or more and then sell them. u pay no taxes at all.
