Is Britain's proposed green tax just another example of emergency measures removing civil liberties ?

Do you think that yesterdays news of higher taxes to counter act global warming is genuine, or just an excuse to raise taxes under the umbrella of fear.

Similar to the defense of the realm act, or the introduction of income tax in 1799 to fund the war against napoleon ?

How i see it is .. we live on this tiny island and whatever we do will never be good enuff to counter act global warming
They should be targeting large countries like china and America who cause most of the polution !

No, anyone who knows anything about the earth sciences and the environment will know its a real threat not a made up one. Grow up conspiracy theorists, we need to stop being wasteful.

Only polluters will have to pay the so-called green taxes, so it's down to the individual to make as much effort as they can to save the world and save themselves money. It's like speed cameras - you only pay a fine if you speed, so don't pollute and you won't have to pay.

It is an emergency measure because the UK is bankrupt!!!!!
