Large fund from oversea...?

Hello,

I'm in Canada now and one of my family members in Asia might send some large amount of fund (possibly upto 200k) to my account. This isn't in any way an income for me (nor used as money laundry) but it's for our family's own use. In general is there any regulations or requirements to this transfer of fund?

It'd be very appreciated if someone fully explain everything I need to know regarding the issue. I can provide more info on request.

Thanks so much!

If everything is legitimate, there should be no problem.

Contact your bank (where the money is coming to) and let them know to be expecting this from your family and the source. It might get put on hold, but it should all be fine.

somethings r worth....

First off, I hope this is not some "gift" where you are going to give over your bank information for transfer, and they are going to suck YOUR account dry because you shared private information with them. I would never give out my account info, but would opena NEW account with no ties to other accounts, and no balance.

Secondly, I'm in the U.S., so I don't know what Canada law states. But in the U.S., there are implications on gifts over a certain amount. You should consult with a tax attorney or accountant to find out the law in Canada.

Finally, if you've got any extra leftover, let me know. We single moms can use all the help we can get. HEHEHEHEHE. Take care and God bless!
