How do you go about reporting a corporation for hiding income & using corporate funds for personal gain? Depending on the state you live in there are probably whistleblower statutes on the books. There are also federal whistleblower statutes. Best to consult a local lawyer. It depends on the specific kind of fraud. You should probably start by reporting it to your direct supervisor (document this - in written form). If that is ignored by the company, you should then take any evidence you have along with your documentation to the appropriate authorities. Your local IRS office will certainly be interested, as will, potentially the SEC (if publicly traded) and the authorities (e.g. your local police, who will work with the local D.A. to prosecute). It depends on who you are? (DO you work for the company) Start with the IRS and go from there. I'm sure it'll start to snowball. |
