Are there RRSP's that actually have a gain of 10%? |
I am just starting out with RRSP's. Most RRSP's I have looked at have maybe a max of 6% gain. Is this just because they are the safest, lowest risk RRSP's? Are RRSP's almost like stocks / mutual funds where you can invest them into funds and depending on the risk they may gain more than 6%? Think of an RRSP as a type of account, you can hold different investment inside it, like GIC's, stocks, mutual funds, etc. So the return is wholly dependent on what type of investments you have in your RRSP. I mostly have stocks and mutual funds, so I usually exceed 10%. RRSP isnt a product that earns money. Its a government tax shelter designed to encourage people to save income for retirement. |
