I'm Canadian and want to "take advantage" of the US$ weakness.? |
I'm canadian and I'm thinking of "taking advantage" of the current weakness of US$ by investing in US$. If you truly believe that your govt will not let the loony appreciate very far above the US$ then maybe you should start buying dollars. I am an American, and I guarantee you that the dollar will continue to lose its worth. It has been slowly depreciating for ages now. The Bank of Canada doesn't have complete control over the exchange rate. Canada doesn't have a command economy where everybody has to listen to the government, or else. It depends on how much money you have. Probably your best best with a lower dollar is to get a house loan at a U.S. bank for property in Canada. As the dollar weakens, your payments would drop. |
