Child Trust Fund (CTF) which company has the best returns for a shares account for children? In The UK? |
I have a 250 pounds voucher from the UK Government to invest for my son, I like to invest in shares (non stakeholder), which is the best company in the UK that has a CTF trust for shares? and cheapest commissions. To date the best performing CTF since launch is the Redmayne Bentley iShares FTSE Xinhura fund. However, buying solely on past performance is foolish; this is a high risk fund and could quite easily lose a large chunk of money in future. You should decide how much risk you are comfortable taking then choose an investment to suit. The best value self-select CTF is offered by www.selftrade.com, who charge a 拢12.50 dealing fee, but you may decide this is uneconomic on a 拢250 trade. Investing only 拢250 in shares will be very expensive in commission. Better buy a unit trust or put it in a cash fund. The interest s tax free. You would be better placing the money with Foreign & Colonial. It has very low charges and has access to the whole world though its general international investment trust. |
