Vanguard Total International Stock Index fund? |
I own Vanguard Total Stock Market fund and it has been performing well I was thinking about investing in the International Fund for my ROTH IRA for the long term. Is this a good idea, or could I do better? The standard (and good) strategy is to invest in US, international, and bond mutual funds. The ideal is to shift your allocation of each type over time to achieve strong gains with minimum volatility. I agree totally. You should diversify with some international exposure. International funds have been doing great in the last few years. Although there's no guarantee of future returns, there's a lot of growth in international markets now. Consider the Total international stock market fund, or the International value fund VTRIX, which I own myself and can recommend. The main difference is that the total international fund has more emerging markets exposure, slightly more risky therefore. I've been checking out the same fund, looking for the foreign exposure,, looks like a good idea to me. |
