Aggressive investments: fund loans?

Hello. I have about $100k that I'd like to invest aggressively. A while back I remember reading about services that connected lenders directly with borrowers. It seemed like a great idea - a borrower would state why he or she needed the money, and a group of lenders would fund the request at a high rate of return. I just spent a bunch of time online, but I couldn't find much data that told me if this was a good decision or not. Really, what I'm looking for is a way to really increase my return over investing in stocks and mutual funds. Do you think this might be a smart way to go?

You might want to look into small (under $500,000) venture capital requests.

Our company Business Loan Quest has a couple of very nice high return projects (the risk is also high) that we will be glad to show you .

Before you accept any advice you need to consider the possibility of actually loosing your capital. the services you mention offer a high rate of return and BRIEFLY mention the HIGH risk. To protect yourself in making investments into "Start-up" or "Hard money" Lending consider some form of Partnership. This possibility offers you the options of control not provided to lenders, As well as a Higher Rate Of Return if the company does as well as the prospective borrower projects.

I wouldn't touch it. The lending market is waaaay overtaxed. A good 10% of mortgages are underwater, consumer debt is at an all-time high and we're on the verge of seeing a landslide of home and auto loan defaults if there is any hiccup in the economy.
