What is the best way to invest my 401(k)? |
What funds should I invest in and at what percentages? I hate to sound negative here, but that's kind of like walking into a Doctor's office and announcing "how do I get well?". No one can properly advise you on how to invest your 401K without know things like: to me, u should put a 25% of it in the bank, u know, for the rainy days. 50% for ur kids[or furture ones], and the other 25% is for u! have a good day^.^ Report It Man, that was a useless answer. Very likely this person is not of retirement age, since the majority of workers are not near retirement. Report It if you are young equity index of the s & P 500 low fees and a proven winner Report It CD's Mrkt - sideways to negative next 18 mths. Inflation high, housing starts,sales- sliding. Bby Bmers retiring, downsizing homes, moving to safer invstmt. Momentum can't be stopped. Short term CD's or foreign investment. Mrkt not going to crash, better opportunities out there. Report It Not to be rude but have you people read the question? wow... asshole, u could have just answered it for the guy. geeze, he prolly knows alla that ****, just give him a plain fun answer for the love of god. Report It you can invest in romanian properties (http://www.24romanianpropertie... you may profit 300% after few year Report It http://www.24romanianpropertie... Report It I'm not sure what's your position at the moment. However, in his newest book, Donald Trump advices people not to invest in 401(k) plan unless you have a salary at least $150,000/year because that plan works only like a saving account rather than tru retirement plan. Report It OO UR LUCKY INSTEAD OF DOING A 401K TAKE THE SAME AMOUNT YOU WOULD HAVE INVESTED IN THAT AND PUT IT IN A ROTH IRA - IT'LL ALL BE TAX FREE WHEN YOU GET IT OUT...401K YOU'LL PAY TAX ON ALL OF IT Report It U shd inv to the mx in the 401k, then mx out the Roth, then if eligible cont in a IRA. To answer your question, if u are not going to retire in the next 5 years, half in Tot Bond Mrkt and half in Tot Stk Mrkt.or S&P 500, but wait for any correction since the market is high now. Man, I wish I was you... I'd buy so much stuff... LOL Report It Note if your employer offers matching funds and contribute to the largest extent that gets matched; e.g. if you get 50% match up to 6% of your salary, put 6% of your salary in if you can.+ Report It invest but little by little, if i have 401 k to invest, first in use the 50k, then if it wokrs well, il use the income of that certain business to invest again to my 2nd business, dnt invest ur 401k fully, start first from 50k to 100k only, Report It YOUR A TOOL TO THE SYSTEM. Report It Ya thats why the world trade center isnt here anymore, maybe you should watch the news...
