I'd like to invest in mutual funds that buy bank stock and insurance company stocks. Any sugestions?

Look at the Fidelity Select sector funds.

For example, Fidelity Select Insurance.

Also Davis New York Venture is a "go anywhere" fund, but seems to put a lot into banks and insurance companies. (Chris Davis is descended from Shelby Cullom Davis, who was one of the greatest insurance company investors of all time.)

go to your local bank and see if they have a financial advisor. They ususally dont work on commission and can direct you honestly.
