Should I invest in MF>?

Should I invest in Mutual Fund after I graduate from high school? Is it possible to do it throguh the internet?

learn a bit about mutual funds particularly what they focus on, what MERs mean to investors, and the holdings of a fund before jumping in.

Otherwise they're an effective investment tool.

Excellent place to start investing. You can set up an account directly with a mutual fund family like Vanguard or Fidelity or set up a brokerage account at Schwab or Etrade and buy mutual funds thru it.

However, if you plan to use this money short term (less than a 8-10 year horizon), then I'd stay away from mutual funds. Better to be safe and stick it away in a money market fund or CD.

Mutual funds traditionally produce the lowest returns our there. After inflation and taxes and fees, you end up with nothing.

Mutual funds are for inexperienced and safe investors who know very little about investing.
