I want to invest in mutual funds, is it the right time to do so?

As the sensex is alredy 20k plus,is there risk to invest at this time or investing in good companies is still fruitful, please suggest

invest through SIP to decrease the risk associated.

ASK WHEN U GO TO THE BANK

SORRY FOR caps

No.

For all of this year i would keep your mmoney in bank cd's.

I think this year is going to be rough for the stock market, If oil stays at $100 per barrel the economy willl be come stagnant.

aslo, i am not a big fan of mutual funds, I would rather invest in a few individual stocks,

I think it is the best time for investing in mutual funds. SEBI has allowed short selling for institutional investors & FIIs and it is likely their money will also raise the bull's power. The telecom sector is roaring and there are very good opportunities.

I will suggest you to invest in MFs of power & telecom sector.

Investment in Mutual Funds is always good, you just need to have a long term vision.

Invest in Mutual Funds through the SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) which will reduce the risk cover.

Following websites are good for mutual fund info

Your question seems to be confusing. You ASK about Mutual Funds but finish with a clause about Good Companies; indicating a desire to invest in individual equity stocks.

First of all... there is ALWAYS a risk when investing in stocks, bonds or mutual funds.

2. a Mutual Fund invests in many stocks, bonds or an index. It is instant diversification. Instantly spreading risk. The investments are dependent upon the funds stated objectives.

3. Invest Long term, more than 5 years, and you won't worry about "timing" the market.

4. Consider Dollar Cost Averaging your investment into the fund and continue with a systematic Investment every month/ quarter, week, etc. with the same dollar amount of investment each time.

What do you mean by word 'risk'. When money goes out from you, than the risk starts.
