Can somebody suggest me a good Canadian index fund?

I live in Canada and would like to know what is a good index fund to invest?

Only one mutual fund I can think of is Fidelity's...FICDX...not really an " index" fund but pretty widely invested in a range of Canadian companies. It returned about 31% last year.
Another option ,which is pretty close to an " index", is the ETF... EWC... returned 37% last year.
Both of the funds have great companies to invest in and have holdings in CNQ, RIMM, SU, POT, ECA and some very sound financials.
FICDX would require a $ 2500. minimum investment ( I think) but the ETF you can purchase in any number of shares...( trading about $ 31.50 a share right now)
Both are nice and diverse...energy, financials, tech, and ag chems.... great country you've got there with lot's of stuff for the world markets!! Good luck.
