If you wanted to make maximum gain in only 3 months with little risk, which type of fund should you invest? |
Large Cap? International? Emerging Markets? Bonds? Mid Cap? Small Cap? Balance Funds? A three month time frame is just not long enough for any type of investment to pay off. Plus, we have a new Senate and new House starting in January, who knows what they will do, and how that will effect the market. The reality is: Maximum Gain" and "Little Risk" are mutually exclusive terms. Moodys and many brokerage sites, including Yahoo will lead you to a 3 x 3 square where small, mid, large funds are crossed w/ growth/blend/income. They will tell you what the risk and potential is, listing the funds 1 mo. 6 mo. 1 yr. 5 yr. and 10 yr. ranking in funds of that type. its simple, to make money you have to spend money. I would recommend a money market account with a bank. There is virtually no risk and some banks are offering yields greater than 5%. |
