What is most beneficial -to invest in mutual funds or provident fund?

please also explain from where one can get mutual funds and which one is best?

Benefits depends upon your risk taking ability..
if i have to say about mutual funds and provident fund in terms of risk and returns...i would say this...this is a general concept applicable to almost everything in this world..
Risk is Directly proportional to the returns...!!!!!!
more risk more returns...vice-versa...
so remember this always
Mutual funds are more risky than provident funds coz of the standard risk factors like no assurance of returns, market risk...etc
Provident funds are more safer coz it is a govt. fund so assurance will be there.
Mutual funds offer more returns to your investment...as they are professionally managed and will be well diversified investment.
it also will have more cost..
while investing in provident fund doesnt cost you
provident fund gives u very less returns when compared to the MF's..and the tenure is also high...hence the liquidity is less..
investing in MF's will have more liquidity..i mean u can take out the money when ever u want.if u are in need of money..
U can save tax on both the things so u need not worry...
to suggest u between these two things..need some more info about yr income, needs, savings pattern, age, family etc...
so ive discussed the above things...
take a call considering your situation and financial objectives..
if u r more interested in the returns then go for MF..its the best investment avenue available today
if u are more concerned about the safety of the money go for PF

Hope i provided u with sufficient info...
i wish u good luck...!!!!!!
Happy investing...!!!!!!!
