Are "Emerging Markets Funds" a good fund to invest in? |
They have been doing +33% 1yr and +33.5 5yr I would not purchase any fund with the expectation of receiving 33% on a regular basis. Higher Risk but potentials for better returns. Very risky. Potential of great returns...or great loses. It can also depend on WHAT emerging market(s), the fund invests in. Where? One contry or is it a mix? You could invest in EEM's just make sure you have good timing and follow your rules. Emerging market funds are a good investment tool but they have a high risk. I like to think of them as playing a role as just a portion of a larger investment portfolio. Depending on your financial situation, more or less of a portfolio percentage should go into these funds. My risk tolerance is currently low so only about 3% of my portfolio is in an emerging market fund. |
