Is Franklin Templeton Growth Fund class A a good fund to invest into for long term?

According to Morningstar.com, Templeton Growth Fund Class A has not performed very well versus its peers over the past 3 and 5 years. If you factor in the 5.75% sales charge, its performance is even worse. With that said, Its absolute performance has been good over the past 5 years just like the performance of most mutual funds with substantial international exposure.

One other qualm I have about this mutual fund as well as some other load mutual funds is that it is very difficult to get detailed information about its portfolio managers and analysts. Most no load mutual fund families provide you with very good information about their investment people.

FOR LONG TERM I THINK SO

well lets see 1000 to invest initially 5.75% sales load. 1.05% expense ratio and its axctually a VALUE play not a growth 1.75% yield (not that great either) and is a global play.

I got a better one or two rather ETF's CWI (I own) or VEU (used to own). Both are true global minus USA plays very well diversified no mimimum no sales load (except for broker commissions) and an expense ratio of .35 and .25 respectively and are balanced.

There are better options than loaded mutual funds.

Based on the past performance, no. Compare it to T Rowe Price Capital Appreciation Fund to see what I mean.
