Do you understand that if you invest in anything other than an American company that can handle the transaction, then you are talking about international regulations?

International companies can charge any fees or charges that they wish.

You do not have any rights that you are given by American companies under USA laws

If you have any problems, you must hire an international lawyer at about $400 per hour minimum.

at the present juncture you cannot do it directly. But in the near future when the rupee is convertible in the capital account you can buy and sell assets overseas. The initial route would be the mutual fund route because a fund manager is in a much better position to take informed decisions on the market overseas than you.

you have mutual funds which allow you to invest into foreign market. you are allowed to certain max. limit / annum / person.

If you want to invest into REALTY, you fcan directly invest upto same limit.
