I have a little money, i want to invest in something to make more. Do you guys have any ideas?

I have about 150 USD that i can invest. I want something so that i can make some money, I owe the school just over $5000, and i want to try to pay them back, what options do i have?
I would rather things online, safe ways to make money on line.
thanks
mike

There are very few investing options available to somebody with less than $500-1,000 to invest, as you cannot meet investment minimums in legitimate stocks or funds with less than that.

Also, be careful of anything that claims to provide more than 10-15% returns per year - especially if it 'guaranteed' - as that means most likely somebody is trying to scam you. This is especially true online - many scams out there.

As you can see by the above numbers, it will take many many years of such returns before you can turn that $150 into enough to pay back the school.

So I think your best option is to put it in a CD (Certificate of Deposit) at a bank, then get a job (or use earnings from your current job) to add to that $150 until you either have enough to invest in stocks or mutual funds, or have earned enough to pay off the loan. (I recommend paying it off by working rather than investing - with investing, you could lose money, and even if you don't you will need a rate of return that beats the interest rate on your loan just to make any progress - which is definitely possible, but not guaranteed, and earning money via working is the quicker and more sure-fire way to get it paid off.)

Try stock markets (option 1)
Go for gambling (option 2)
Pray God (last option)

Start up your own part time service business. Then put that $150 toward business cards and other things you'll need to start it up. Then list your service on craigslist.com and other places.
