The "best" depends on the amount of risk you are ok with. But if you want a good safe return, put it in a CD at your bank, somewhere in the mid 5.5% range (the longer the CD term, the higher the interest percent typically is).

Depends on how risk you're willing to take, the bigger the risk, the bigger the potential gains but you also stand to lose some of your initial investment, personally I would put 拢3000 of it in an ISA and the rest in a high interest instant access acount, there are plenty around that pay 5% or more per year
