How can I invest money to make money?

I don't have much to invest.

Sharebuilder.com lets you invest any amount you want, if its a $60 stock and you only invest $25 it will buy the fractions of a share for you, then next month you can do it again and again etc...

It depends if you are willing to work a little or not. What type of budget you have will also affect what your potential venture can be. I need more info.

Investing money has to start somewhere. Whether you have a little bit of money or a lot of money. Depending on how much you are talking about depends on what you can do.

With a little bit of money, you can always invest in CDs..... personally I think those are a waste of time and energy though. What I did in the past was I looked into buying stocks online. I researched all the online companies and found them all to require pretty much about $1000 to open an account. However I did find that sharebuilder.com was much more to my liking. I could buy, sell, and trade stocks on my own and I didnt need $1000 to invest. Stocks are can be risky though. Now my portfolio is much bigger but thats how I started.

If you are looking for a safer investment, you could buy tax free bonds. They are secure, safe, and will give you a pretty decent rate of return. However; you will need to keep them for a longer period of time.

The only thing that I would really shy away from if I were you would be penny stocks. Yes.... you can make a LOT of money buying penny stocks but you will stand to lose MUCH MUCH more than you gain. Unless you are lucky. Most people that buy penny stocks lose money.

I don't know how much you have but the best LONG TERM way to make money is in Mutual Funds. Find one with a low minimum and then systematically put everything you can afford into it each month. The miracle of compounding will amaze you.
