Can I invest money from my Roth IRA into a Subchapter S Corporation? |
I am already aware of the fact that I can use money in my Roth IRA to make real estate investments. I'm trying to figure out if I can also use money that I have in my account to make an investment/buy shares in a Subchapter S corporation? No. IRA's may not hold certain classes of assets and closely held corporations are one of them. Likewise, if you happened to be the Chairman of IBM, you couldn't invest in that either. Only certain kinds of trusts can be S corp shareholders and a Roth would not qualify as far as I can tell. |
