Just Remember: Stocks that go UP very fast, are likely to go DOWN fast too. If it goes up too fast, it becomes overvalued -and eventually will "correct itself".

Also Remember: If you manage to get a stock that goes up FAST and you manage to sell while it's high, if you've held if less than a year - you will pay a higher capital-gains tax, than if you held it longer than a year. -if you have invested a modest amount, commissions, fees, and capital-gains taxes may wipe out too much of your quick money to satisfy you.

There is probably no good, reliable - something-for-nothing, get rich quick plan. Investing is a risky way to try. Fast gains are always corelated with high risk. You'd be better off to CREATE something to which you have exclusive patent, trademark, or copyright rights, then create a market for your creation.

If you have $1000, I recommend Vanguard Star fund.

If you have $3000, I recommend Vanguard Total Stock Market Index.

This is of course a matter of opinion, but I think the US stock market is fairly attractive right now.

If you want to try something different, lend money to other people on Prosper.com for as little as $50, and you'll start to see results in a month.

invest in indian stock markets.india as one of the emerging markets is a great growth story.a booming economy with a GDP growth of over 8%.a good long term investment in bluechip companies should yield a good return.you can make a killing in india but not on nasdaq.not for nothing foreign institutional investors have invested close to 10 billion USD in india last year.

There are no get-rich-quick schemes. Your term "fast" is like a beacon of hope and greed.

You can open a brokerage account at Scottrade with at least $500.00 in 15 minutes or less.

Every Family with more than $100,000,000.00 invests in the Stock Market for a living and they don't have to "work" anymore.

You can buy 20 stocks for $70.00 today and sell them for $72.00 tomorrow and you make $26.00
Is that fast enough for you?

I am a Portfolio Manager. Therefore I invest in the Stock Market for a living.

I am not sure that I would recommend jumping right into the stock market without first doing a little research. First go to your library and check out a couple of books on investing.

For many people mutual funds are an easy way to begin. Some mutual funds will allow you to begin investing with as little as $500.00 and then you can add money periodically in increments of $50 or so. Not all mutual fund unfortunately are good investments. They are like everything else. There are good ones and there are bad ones. You can buy mutual fund shares directly from the mutual fund company. You can redeem your mutual fund shares with a phone call and the company will either send you a check or wire the funds to your bank account. Unfortunately, your bank will charge you to process the wire transfer so unless you need the money really fast, ask for a check. In general investing should be a long term affair and not a buy today, sell tomarrow affair. That is not investing. That is speculating.

My personal oppinion is that most people should own some stocks through a mutual fund or by buying the stocks directly.

I am including a link to yahoo finance that will show you some well reguarded mutual funds, both load and no-load funds. I personally do not like load funds, but some have a very good record. All of these are said to have a minimum investment amount of no more than $500 but that may be incorrect.
