I'm trying to invest money in either stocks, 401K, IRA's, etc. But I know nothing on this so any help or info?

I am basically looking for anyone that has any information or ideas on investments and can help me out with this. My job offers deffered comp through ING and some other plans but i'm not sure what to choose. I'm already enrolled in a pension plan but I want to invest money on my own. Any ideas or web sites? Please help, thanks in advance.

If you are looking short term, look at CD's , Money Market or savings acccount.

If you are looking long-term, and have plans to dollar cost average and reinvest dividends, then a DRIP plan is fantastic.

They are seldom talked about because brokers make very little money when they suggest them. Yet, they have proven to be one of the best, if not the best, long-term strategy on Wall Street.

The best part is you get solid annual returns from well-known, safe Blue Chip companies like: McDonalds, General Electric, Pfizer, Walmart, US Bancorp.......etc........

They are inexpensive to start and maintain, and your dividends are reinvested for free.

They are perfect for small investors, as well as big investors. They are safe and allow you to not care about whether the market is going up or down.

I hope this helps.

I know the website name seems kind of weird but believe me it is a very well written. Everything you need to know about how and when and why to invest is on there. Just follow the tabs and soon youll be educating your friends on dividends, yields, and other "foolishness"

Read the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, etc. Investing and/or playing the stock market can be like gambling...very expensive.

You should check with your employer regarding a 401K since there's tax advantages .

I just moved my 401K into the money market since the volatility of the "market" is so high. (I'm playing it safe)

I had the same problem as you have.
I had a good amount of money, but didn't knew where to invest it.
So I looked around for something that gave me a great return towards a low risk.
And the only thing I could find was a mannaged account.
Here you can follow up my results of every day:

Don't do it!!!! We are headed for the biggest stock market crash in history and these types of products usually are invested in the stock market via mutual funds. You can only invest in a 401k through your employer if they offer it. Remember....if the government has anything to do with it, the government will never let go of it with out making a huge profit. They will be raising the age when you can take it out to 67 1/2 in two year increments. Who wants to wait to retire at almost 70? America is on sale right now. Real Estate is cheap enought to get a positive cash flow. Becareful, only get a fixed loan, rates will probably never be this cheap again.

I am not sure how anyone knows we are headed for the biggest stock market crash ever. That is a bold statement. She may be right, but if I were a betting woman, I would say no.

I like looking at several websites, I will list just a few.
