Best thing to do with savings?

Hello, I am 29 years old and have a few savings. I fear the current economic mess. Will the dollar keep falling? Should I invest overseas? Invest in gold, or is it overpriced? Is the euro overpriced? I am also consireding buying a condo if I get a killer deal in an upcoming auction. Please share your thoughts. Thank you

keep your money close and go for condo -- i would put the money in 3 month cds while i am waiting!!!

I'm not a financial advisor so I will say what I would put my money on:

** Anything related to Petro/Crude Shipping
** Oil Refineries
** Maybe Gold (but I think that ride is pretty close to the top)
** You can't say "overseas".. You have to research each country. Think that Asian Economies are directly impacted by what happens in the USA. Notice that we import more than we export (hence the trade deficit) and those people we import from (China, Japan, etc...) rely on our purchases to survive. If we can't purchase because of our own recession, then their economy will also falter.

** So I would look at Brazil. Find out what's happening there

** But the most important thing is to not chase "opportunities" or "get rich quick" schemes in the market as these are the very same reasons we are in this mess.

** Invest your money conservatively. Risk a little but be safe with most of it.

** If I can buy the condo with traditional financing and I'm not going to put myself into or close to going broke every month to meet the payments...(i.e. you will still have good liquidity and cashflow), then I'd probably buy it. Depends on what part of the world you're in. I wouldn't buy a place with the idea that I'm going to cash-in. I would buy it for shelter.

** I don't know about the EURO being overpriced, but I know that all of EUROPE is over priced. The same things that we buy here are twice the price over there...

** I'm not a dream killer

** Right, I guess the best thing to do would be to give your savings to Mr. Dreamer below...

If you need the money near term (to buy a condo), the last thing you should be doing is investing in speculative things like gold and "overseas" items. Keep it safe in a money market fund or CDs.

To the first guy that tried to answer your ?

If you make alot of money quick, is it a schem that's what most people say because they can't invision making 7000 a week, like I do he say's don't chase oppurtunities he sounds like a dream killer. I'am were I'm at because I did, was fear there yea did I fail you bet. Yes I'm talking about home oppurtunities. Don't let the dream killers say Those things don't work stay with your 9-5 invest save your money live scared why fear the current economic mess anymore.

As long as your money is FDIC insured you should be ok even if things get really bad. If you鈥檙e worried about a total Financial collapse, the money you have in saving will do you no good anyway.
