Accounting Problems!!??Help!?

Customers' deposits that may not be spent for operating purposes are displayed in the statement of net assets of the enterprise fund of a governmental entity as:
a. Restricted cash or investments
b. Nonrestricted cash or investments
c. Payable to genteral fund
d. Payable to special revenue fund.

Technically, it should be reported as "Customer deposits payable." I think the answer the question is looking for is "restricted cash or investments," but that wouldn't be entirely correct.

According to the 2005 GAAFR: "In practice, restricted assets are
encountered most commonly in connection with the various special
accounts mandated by revenue bond indentures." Restricted cash is very very rarely used in situations of customer deposits.

Also, the amounts would not be payable to the General Fund or any Special Revenue funds unless the money came from those funds and not directly from the customers.

I think the question is flawed and there is no right answer, sorry to say.

I'm not sure which answer is correct, but I've got to say that your name is rather funny! ROFLOL
