Is anyone else loosing money in their IRA accounts?

Is there hope of things getting better? Any advice on how to stop loosing money on my investment for my future? The money in my IRA is from an old 401K, and has been decreasing in value since around august or so.

Yes, many people are losing money on their IRA. What you are seeing with your investments is a correction in the market. Things will get better it will just take time. You will recoup your money and then some. Think of it this way if you buy a house and the housing market slows down you don't sell your house for a loss, you wait until the market recovers and then you recover the equity in your home. Remember that Ira's are long term investments. You can minimize your losses by moving your money into a less aggressive fund within your funds, but depending on the losses to date you may be better off leaving things the way they are. Understand that, as crazy as it sounds, this is a good time to put money into your IRA because you will be buying more shares for less money. So when the market does recover, in a few months, your portfolio will recover quicker.

A better question would be , is there any one out there who is not losing money.
This mess we are in is "short term" unless you are retiring in 2 or 3 years, leave everything alone and it will come back. Play now and you can only lose.

everyone i know is holding their own in there account. if you have someone else is managing your account, check their performance rating, also they may have changed mangement personnel. if you are unsatisfied dont hesitate to transfer it to someone else.
