Barclays Stockbrokers Shares and Investments Please Help?

I ahve applied onliine for Barclays MarketMaster and have recveived the form through the post.... Do I really have to pay 拢125 to open an account with them?

Also what stocks for 2007 I was thinking Vodaphone

Sorry, I don't know about the MarketMaster thing, but I do get a free link to Ishares, a Barclay service.

As for the stocks for 2007, I'm really excited about Lockheed (LMT) but it is getting too pricey for me. Still, both the fundamentals and technicals are grand.

Assuming you're in the UK, I believe you can get a far better deal through the Halifax @ http://www.halifax.co.uk/sharedealing

As for UK stocks.......
Vodafone (VOD.L) Looks a bit average, using my skill for checking over the details through http://quote.fool.co.uk/Hop2Partner.aspx...
the EPS growth is showing as going to increase, but at a lower amount each year....... the PEG score (don't ask) is increasing, while the P/E ratio is decreasing. Meanwhile the broker ratings as to whether it's a Strong buy / buy / neutral / sell / strong sell are rather mixed.
Meanwhile, their income statement in the "Fundamentals" section on http://quote.fool.co.uk has quite a few figures in ( ) marks, which indicates a loss.

A better bet would be "Debtmatters" (DEBT.L)
http://quote.fool.co.uk/Hop2Partner.aspx...
Which I'm currently making a 30% profit on since buying it in December 2005, and I expect it to go higher in a similar way to "Debt Free Direct" (DFD.L) - 136% in profit since buying it in april 2005 after following a tip from everyinvestor.co.uk (where I also first learn't about "Debtmatters").
