Which of these banks is the best to have that I list?

The banks I think about open checking and saving account is Bank of America, Citibank, or Washington Mutual. I'm from Chicago, IL. I like a bank that is also in other countries. Includes good place to investments, protect me from Identity theft, a good credit card to have, loans and good retirement.

If you know others good banks that is not of one the three, I like to know. Thank you

Everyone complains about Bank of America, but I think they are great. True, their customer service is sometimes lacking, I would rather have a good bank and mediocre customer service, then a bad bank with great service. Bank of America has a lot of programs involving their credit cards where you can monitor your credit for like $12 a month or something like that I think.

I would say bank of america but i think chase is beter

Are you from this world ? Grow up !

Banks will rob you legally right and left. Never rely or depend on them completely. Spread out. Open 2-3 accounts in banks closest to you. Learn their service charges first.

I just saw a commercial for HSBC stating their online savings rate is 5.05%. I think this is a britsh bank that has branches in hong kong & china. I noticed the FDIC logo on the commercial so they may be legit. Check out thoroughly.

Find a community bank or credit union to keep your checking account at. They will typically have lower fees for products/services and as they are town-based, the turnover is lower and the people know you when you come into the office. Knowing a banker's name/phone number means all you have ot do is call your "friend" the bank and things get taken care of. Plus, community banks offer the same products as big banks - free ATMs nationwide, online bill pay for free, etc, etc.

All banks have international use debit cards, so I would again recommend using you community bank. Debit cards and credit cards are much more secure when traveling overseas, so that it all I use when traveling to Europe (plus, credit cards have travel insurance, rental car insurance, etc)

If you are set on a big bank for travel, open a checking and savings at Citibank. They are a decent bank with world-wide branches and below average fees. They also are paying a hellish amount on savings accounts. HSBC is a good one too, but they market presence in the US and mainland Europe is not very good.
