Can someone guide me ? How do I get started and what's the minimum amount of shares that one can purchase?

I'm a going to open damat account . i am student i dont have more money that are pocketmoney

I'm thinking of putting some of my money into investments but I don't know about it.

Can someone guide me along? How do I get started and what's the minimum amount of shares that one can purchase?

Also, what affects the share prices?

Hey, i don't have much knowledge into this, though I would like to share whatever I know.
Since the buying & selling of shares are done thru online, so you have to keep an sharp eye over that website where you have opened a demat account. It is very important in case of Intraday playing.
The most important thing is that, where you are going to create your demat account, since every website takes brokerage charge for each & every transaction. And these brokerage charges varies from site to site, bank to bank. Carefully go through the bank or company policies before openning an account.

It doesn't matter; whether you make profit or loss out of your shares, you have to pay their brokerage charges. Also they keep some money for security deposits. So, all the best.

Listen buddy, if you are going to play intraday trading (means, buying & selling of a share must be within a single day), then your bank account where you have your savings account, will offer some extra money for that particular game, but intraday playing is very risky.

How many shares would u like to buy is totally yours choice, but make sure ur profite can cover up the applied brokerage charges.

So, Best of luck.. in fact within next few days I'm also going to open a demat account.

If you could gather more knowlegde, then do let me know buddy through mail: kausik19832002@yahoo.co.in
