Recommendations for Personal Banker at Chase?

Hi. I am considering becoming a Personal banker for Chase and I have some doubts. Actually, my final interview is next Monday so any answer/advise would help.

1. Do all the clients come up to you while you are sitting in your chair? That would be great...being out "on the street" looking for clients is tough and ungrateful.

2.-Do you have to walk to the branch lobby and talk to them? And if so, what are you supossed to ask/tell them?

3.- On top of that, how effective is it to go out networking to get more clients?

4.-What does a PB at Chase exactly do? Just credit and debit cards, checking accounts...or also IRA, Mutual funds and other investment? I know they have to be licensed, so I麓d like to know how much of investment and how much of banking they do.

5.-Is online marketing a serious or effective way to get clients? If so, which websites?I believe nobody would gp to MySpace to look for a Pers. Banker?

Thanks so much for the answers.

It is fair game to ask about the duties and responsibilities of a Personal Banker on the interview. If you are too far along in the interview process and are embarrassed to ask at this point, you may want to contact Chase's Human Resources department and ask as an anonymous applicant.

It may be a good time to review the formal job description if you have a copy of it. If you don't, I suspect that you might find it on their website, perhaps on their careers section.

If the Personal Banker position reports to a bank branch, it is likely that you will be doing customer triage to start with, until you get to know all the forms and the way the bank does business. Be advised that you will be working directly with customers (the general public) all day. For some, this is very tiring and difficult work. For others, it is very rewarding. It depends on your personality type.

Even if you choose not to take the position, it is always good practice to sharpen your interviewing skills.

Good luck on your final interview!
