What does "Not FDIC Insured" & "No Bank Gurantee" mean? |
US Bank has the following on its website in light print. Banks offer both FDIC-insured accounts and investment products that are not FDIC-insured. You're looking at the investment products. FDIC only covers certain kinds of accounts. if it is a legitimate bank it should be FDIC insured. If it says it isn't I wouldn't put my money in that bank.... if it isn't insured and that bank goes out of business(which doesn't happen these days, think depression era) then you loose your money with that bank. Checking and savings accounts are not investment products. Investment products are like stocks and bonds. Talk to a rep at US Bank |
