Choosing between MF Gowth vs Dividend Option?

Considering markets circumstances,What factors need to be reckoned to CHOOSE between GROWTH & DIVIDEND Options in general in Mutual Funds.Which is better in what market circumstances and How should Individual circumstances be taken into account to guide choosing between these Options for Individual Investors. Will return in either case be Equal between dividend declarations or over the period of Investment.

Hi,

You should invest in MFs for atleast 3 years. You can opt for Dividend only if you invest in Sector/Theme MFs.
Becuase they do not perform well all the time. They have some cycles where as for diversified MFs you should
opt for growth.Because they perform well over longer period of time than sector MFs.So the benefits will be huge.

Growth option is always best.

age of a person will effect this factor. if your age is more than 45 yrs and you really need a regular income from ur investments than only go for dividend option, else growth option is best because in growth option ur units keeps on growing as dividend amount is by default invested

secondly mf company pays tax and amount of dividend you recieve is deducted from ur nav thus u suffer on both nav and growth terms...... indirectly DDT-- dividend declaration tax is paid from ur money.... thats why dividend is taxfree in hand of investor because it is already paid...... but still u think u need a regular income say twice a yr go for dividend,,,,,otherwise, growth is best option .....
