Chinese Yuan: a better long-term investment that the pound?

I ask this as I am working in China getting paid a fair amount of Yuan each month. Every day the TV says that the value of the Yuan will soon go up. I am currently sending money home to a bank account which pays an average interest and then I have to pay the cost of sending the money home.

So what do you think: Yuan or pounds?

What's up with people and complicated questions today?

The Chinese Yuan is likely a better long-term investment, but the answer isn't that simple. It depends on your timeline and if you can wait for values to move up. This will take years to really see affect. If you wanted to see immediate results, you would need to pick up hard asset in China than to hold it in Yuan. Hard assets would be commodities and so on.

You are smart to recognize that keeping the Yuan is a better option, but I wouldn't do it unless you are really expecting to be in China for over 4 years. If you do want to see immediate affects, you should pick-up.

Always the 拢. The UK 拢 is stronger than the US$ and the AUS$.

you seem to know get some chinese in the morning

Sound as a pound, baby. The U.S. continues to put pressure on China to devalue the Yuan. Sooner or later this will happen. Perhaps due to the pressure or just due to market forces.

Personally, I would take all of my spare "fiat currency" and put it in silver or gold.

Asian market is very buoyant at the present time and likely to be for some years to come.

asian economies, especially china, are in the upswing posting remarkable growth rates so you must be doing the right thing for your investment portfolio. good luck. cheers!
