Becoming investment banker or professor?

once upon a time I wanted to be an investment banker in
order to make tons of money, but I realized later that I could
do much better in academic field such as becoming a professor who likes spend most of time in the library and
enjoy studying. So my wonder is how much money do
accounting professor usually make, I know this sounds
bit stupid but I am so curious about it. Because I am
greedy person, and I like to get both job that I like to do
and money also.

job com will give comparison of pay/compensation packages - will be useful.

you do work and earn - question of greedy does not creep in - you are paid for the work done or risk taken - don't lower yourself and call greedy - be proud.

greedy means -- ardently or excessively desirous

your expectations are reasonable - you are not cheating any one.

compare to professor - investment banker earns more.
investment banker job is risky - one cannot work for long - trend changes quickly.

choose professor profession - you will have job satisfaction.

Professors don't get to sit in the library and study. They have to teach classes, mentor grad students, supervise PhD candidates, do independent research (usually while supervising the research staff), write the subsequent papers, have them published in the relevant journals, do management work for the academic department, do outside consulting, etc.
