I received a check supposedly from Impact Investment Group for almost $5,000. Is this a scam?!? |
I,ve tried to contact the Investment Group, but have had no success. The check looks legit, but I am very leary that someone is just phishing for info to get into my account. Anyone have a clue? rjjw You received a $5,000 check you weren't expecting from some company you've never heard of. It'll be a scam. It's a scam ya'll. i found that out already. don't even bother cashing the check. Report It Contact the drawers bank (should be written on the check) and ask them about it. number one said it all The simple and best answer is to just take it to your bank and ask them to check it out. Through the national database then can find out if the check is legit in about 5 minutes. I had a check that came from a place that I didn't recognize. My bank checked it out for me and it turned out that it was a refund check, plus interest, from an place that was no longer in business. The check itself was written by a managing company of the business funds.. you might ask your bank to look in to it for you ,they may do this for free. Deposit the money and sit on it! don't take it to your bank... take it to a local check cashing store.. like a payday advance and see if they'll cash it. that way if they are trying to fish there'll be no trace. It's a scam. Free money in the mail is the tip-off. yes 100% scam. I just went to a bank to deposit the ck and they are investigating it's source. |
