The best way to get a job in accounting and banking and investment?

I am a first class student in Ba (Hons) Accounting and Finance. I left the job searching to late.

If your in the UK, put your CV on www.monster.com
Employers search the website for the candidates they want, it really works!
Good Luck, you've got fantastic qualifications, so I'm sure you'll find something soon xxx

http://monster.com/ is great they will even help you write your own cv.Or apply at a local branch

hope it helps

The Times has a massive job section with jobs in these sectors, or become a member of an Accounting organisation, such as the AAT if you can (I am a member), they have lots of ads in there every month.
I believe Hays job agents are also Accounting & Finance specialists.
Alternatively keep a look out in your local paper, that's where I got my job as an Accountant, although I am not a graduate.

It depends where you are, geographically.
You should send your CV to all the major banks, assurance, insurance and investment houses. Also try the major audit firms.
There are job agencies who specialise in these areas, you'll find them int he Yellow Pages.
Good luck.

As you are an Accounting and Finance graduate, go for the big one, become a Chartered Accountant. The extra effort really pays off as this qualification gives you so much career flexibility throughout your life.
Register with the ICAEW website and do loads of research before you have an interview for a training contract.

Good Luck

If you want to look at going into banking I would become ACCA qualified, not a chartered accountant, this avenue gives you much more oportunityt o go into the commercial aspect of finance rather than staying in practice. It takes 3 years and your employer can sposnsor you or you can pay yourself. Check out their website, other choices are management accounting, log onto www.cimaglobal.co.uk
