Hey, Im looking to open a bank account in US$ but I am South African, any ideas?

Im looking to deposit around $150 in the account monthly for a long term investment

As a non-us citizen you cannot directly deposit to a US Bank. You would have to find out of there are banks in your area that are correspondent banks of US Banks.

One of the challenges to opening new bank accounts today of course is the Patriot Act which entirely changed the banking industry.

You should learn more about investing your funds in US Banks by contacting a local bank and ask them how to do this if it's available in South Africa.
