What other jobs have higher salaries than investment banking and accounting?

In bad time, Inv Bankers (IBs) do not make as much money. Here is an approx rundown

IB analyst (60K + bonus)
IB associate (95K + bonus)
IB VP (150K+bonus)

bonus will range from 30% to 300% of your base salary.

Accountant (1-3 yrs exp) = 45-60K
Accountant (>5yrs exp)=95K

1 year doctor (after residency, avg of all specialties) = 180K
1 year doctor (after fellowship, avg of all specialties)=220K

US Senator = 165k

Successful Trader = (100MM)

Successful Hedge fund Manager : ($800MM)

Accountants start in the 60s probably. Investment bankers start in the 120s to 140s but can make huge bonuses. Professional athletes obviously make more. Attorneys with big lawfirms in big cities start over $100K out of law school. Much more in NYC and LA.

Investment bankers and accountants make vastly different salaries. Investment bankers make much more than accountants.

A top surgeon would possibly make more than an investment banker. A CEO of a large corporation makes even more.
