I was doing my taxes online and i imported my investment account and it said i owed 10g because i bought?

and sold stocks and it said i had 50k worth of sold stock but in reality i only had 8k and was buying and selling stock i ended up loosing about 2k so how come it says i owe 10k in taxes if i ended loosing money instead of making

Sounds like it's not importing correctly.
