How can I establish a small business without my own money?

I heard many times that successful and wealthy people usually start businesses with loans and keeping there money seperate.

I want to open a small nightclub/upscale lounge in orlando florida. I am not naive i have 100k liquid in investments. I am prepared to use my own money but i dont want to put ALL of it. I know nothing about creating companies.

DOes anyone have any advice on this or links where to find some good info. I am also a minority veteran and have good credit, so I think i can get loans from the va to start my business

Go to http://www.score.org/ and in the upper left hand corner, enter your zip code. On the next screen, you will get information on the nearest SCORE chapter. Call them and arrange for a free meeting with a SCORE counselor.

SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

SCORE has 389 chapters in locations throughout the United States and its territories, with 10,500 volunteers nationwide. Both working and retired executives and business owners donate time and expertise as business counselors.

Check with the Small Business Administration (SBA) and see if you if qualify for a 7(a) small business loan. You can also check with your state economic development office to see if they have any loan programs.

As for keeping your personal and business assets separate, you'll need to setup a corporation or limited Liability Company (LLC). You could probably do it all yourself but if you aren't confident go to a CPA or an attorney. Do not use someone off the Internet or some other advertising media that promises to take care of the paperwork for you. "For only $650 we can set up your corporation!" They are a ripoff. In my state NJ you can set up a corporation or LLC yourself for about $125. If you want to pay someone $525 to fill out a form call me...I'll do it for $500.
