What are some great career choices for an INFP?

I'm 29, a brand new student in college and really confused as to what I want to do. I understand that the MBTI can't give you all of the information about your Type, but it can give you a compass or map to help guide you along. It makes sense because all of my ENTJ friends are extremely outgoing and have become or plan on being stockbrokers or investment bankers or surgeons. I can write, and would love to do that for a living, but I guess I really don't know how or where to begin. Any advice would be great.

I'm an ENFJ, so I don't deal well with the business world myself! The NF combo is very powerful, which you have too.

Often INFP's have strong value systems, often put others first, are interested in people, are loyal to people and causes, are creative and inspirational, flexible and laid-back (since you're a P), always want to be growing/learning, sensitive and complex, dislike details, great writing skills, and prefer to work alone (since you're an introvert).

An INFP is suppose to be happiest in careers which allow them to live their daily lives in accordance with their values, and which work towards the greater good of humanity. This is true for me as well, as an ENFJ.

Here's a starting point to think about what careers would fit you best (many of these match my career choices as well):

Writers (journalism/investigative reporting)
Counselors / Social Workers
Teachers / Professors
Psychologists
Psychiatrists
Musicians
Clergy / Religious Workers

Good luck!
