Is it right time to invest in Thailand ?

I am interested to invest in unit trust/fund and unsure if it is the good time to go ahead. The recent miltary coup and currency curb made me feel uneasy. However, looking at the thailand stock index which lag far behind other countries in Asia, I though as a layman if it has strong future grow potential. I am looking at medium to long term investment. Your kind advice, please.

I would definitely avoid them for at least six months, they need to prove stability.

There are two sides to this question. One is that the political situation is definitely unstable there and that increases the risk substantially. The other side is that since the risk has increased substantially, the prices of stocks have fallen and therefore have better investment potential. The action you decide to take should be based on the degree of risk you are willing to take. For me, I would avoid it but I am somewhat risk averse.

I think, now is good time to invest in Thailand, China, India...

Hi, I'm Sean Toh from Singapore. Is it the right time to invest in Thailand?

Although the recent military coup and currency curb have caused a drop in the Units Trust invested in Thailand. However, the drop was pretty much and fast. The gain was pretty fast too.

Unless, you have been monitoring the events happenings and reacting to them fast and time your investement well, you might have make a quick gain from this fluctuation.

I would like you to ask yourself what is your investment objective and how long you have for this investment so that you can better evaluate if it will be sound to invest in Thailand.

Thailand will definitely have better fundamentals to rise above and over the rest of the countries in the regions compared to other economy in the long long.

If you have a long time horizon for this investment of yours, and you are using minimumly technique like dollar-cost averaging to make monthly or yearly investment. You have a better chance to reap return in the near future.

If you do not have the long time horizon, please keep educating yourself first before putting your hard earned money as the equity market might be reaching its peak.

Read more and source for other investment instruments when the equity market has peaked. You will get better conservative returns instead of losing your money without preparation and sufficient education.
