Investment ideas??? plz help!! very important!! thanku?

OK...
I need advice on how to invest 3lakh rupees..... i dont want ot invest in any risky plans.....can you help me ouT???

investment for 3-5 yrs...we live in india....need atleast quarterly returns...

Invest a part in quity mutual funds which give high return but are high risk and some part in debt fund which give less return but also are safer.

Give me the money and I will invest for you :) ha ha ha.

Right, never listen to this kind of advice. The best investment is in your head (brain) get educated on any type of investment vehicles like stock, futures, options or real estate.

The return on your head will take some time to come back to you but I believe it will sooner than you expect.

If i were you thats how i would invest (Experience of 15 years as pro trader) at this days :
35% - Buy india gov bonds for maturity 4-6 years (better if they pay on Quartrly basis)
35% - Buy some Corp bonds in yor country duration around 3 rated at least A
15% - Bank notes for 3-5 years That pay Quarterly returns
10% - Foreign countries Bonds that rated minimum A (S&P)
5% - free for investments like stock markets (but wait a few more months till the cycle down will start to relax) or comodities.
Dont Buy mutual funds (bonds have maturity mutual fund dont)
For sure you can sleep like a chield

Go thru Mutual Fund route

Vanguard has some pretty safe bond funds (VBLTX or VIPSX)...go to www.vanguard.com

But even a bond fund based on very safe US treasuries (like vbltx or vipsx) can and will flucuate in value, especially over shorter time frames. Lately these two funds have been very, very strong and one could argue that they're due for a retracement.

If you are in this for the longer haul, then allocate your investment funds so that they are diversified. Here's a ballpark allocation strategy: 30% us equities, 15% global developed equities, 5% emerging market equities, 20% REITs (us), and 30% US treasury bonds. Over time this will be a decent mix if you adjust it regularly.
